SECRET WEAPON FOR REHAB I have always wanted to get a Vew-Do balance board but never acted on my impulse. It wasn't until a few months ago that, while I was sitting on the Swiss Ball, that I had the motivation to get one. I have been putting in deadly physical therapy sessions but knew there had to be something MORE I could do, to help me feel like man I once was. As I was stewing over the fact that I was still a broken man, I decided to call a friend of mine, Del Haubaker. He is a nasty snowboarder, mountain biker and probably one of the sickest kids ever to stand on a Balance Board. Surely he pointed me in the right direction and introduced me to Brew, the owner of Vew-Do.
I told Brew that I wanted to use a Balance Board to supplement my recovery efforts from my knee surgery. He was so ambitious about how this device will work wonders for me, describing how it will help facilitate the firing up of my proprioceptors and how my neurotransmitters will awaken from the dead. He told me I would do EVERYTHING better after I spent some time on this contraption. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, I just wanted one to help my knee. I was wrong. Within a week, I could tell a marked difference in the performance AND stability of my knee. I also started to feel like my quick twitch muscles were starting to function again. Now I know why Brew is working with the Miami Dolphins and other top athletes. The Vew-Do Balance Board is truly a secret weapon for any athlete who's sport requires balance. I stand on it while I am watching TV or on the phone. I'll hover in a full squat for as long as my legs can take, or close my eyes while standing on it. I also have started to pull off ollies from the ground to the rock and some 360's and stuff (and yes, I have ate it pretty hard, head shotting the desk while I was on the phone). The bottom line is that the Vew-Do Balance Board has become a lifelong companion of mine, and as long as I am able to stand I will use it for cross-training, for recovery days, and most of all, for fun. Thanks Brew and thanks Del. Visit vew-do.com for more info. |
